Carbs, carbs and more carbs… What’s better than a gluttonous Sunday morning breakfast in bed with the bae? Nothing, that’s what. An irresistible all-time favourite with no added health benefits whatsoever, this recipe will not only appease your cravings, it will also satisfy your sweet tooth too. Gorgeous. Here’s our take on the perfect Nutella French toast.
A punnet or two of strawberries
1/4 cup of thick cream
1 cup of milk
1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
2 tablespoons of flour
2 Tablespoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
Prep your bread by separating it on a chopping board. For the best results, use thick bread.
Add milk, cream, eggs, vanilla, sugar, flour, baking powder and nutmeg (in that order) into a blender.
Blend for 10 to 15 seconds until golden, then pour the mixture into a shallow dish.
Soak each slice of bread into the mixture for a minute or two. Don’t forget to turn the slice over to make sure it’s completed covered.
Squeeze the sides of each slice to keep them together.
Next, add some butter in a pan (preferably a griddle) and wait for it to completely melt. Cook on a very low heat until each slice is golden brown.
Serve with a side of fresh strawberries and a sprinkling of icing sugar to taste.
